OUR FAMILY STORY
Mooiplaas is a luxury guest house about 9.8km from Oudtshoorn. Ostrich farm tours, spa treatments and excellent Klein Karoo Cuisine on the premises. A business with true family values.

Viljee Keller
Viljee Keller, owner of Mooiplaas, was born, grew up and went to school in Oudtshoorn. After school, he went to the Army and thereafter to Stellenbosch University where he graduated with a B.Com Management Accountancy, Honours and CIMA degree.
He then returned to Oudtshoorn in 1994 and started his own practise called Keller and McKinnon Accountants with his partner. After eight years, he decided his heart was more on the farm so he sold his part of the business to his partner and returned to the farm Mooiplaas where he has farmed since 1994.
Hanlie Keller
Hanlie and her parents moved to Durbanville, Cape Town, in 1980 where she finished her schooling. She then went to Stellenbosch University and did a degree in Nursing. She was unaware that Viljee was also there.
They met once again and in 1994 she moved back to Oudtshoorn with Viljee where they were married on 17 Dec 1994. They have two children, a son, Piet Keller (5th Generation and named after Grandfather Petrus Jacobus Keller) and a daughter, Nicolize.
Family Is Important
Hanlie’s parents, Nico and Elma Louw, retired and moved back to Oudtshoorn and stay in the house next to Viljee and Hanlie. Viljee’s father, two sisters and brother all stay in Oudtshoorn. Family is very important to them and get-togethers are done on a regular basis.
