The ostrich feather that started the legacy of Oudtshoorn is still a coveted item and today you can get some beautiful feather boas or fashion items that make use of the famous ostrich plume. You can also buy a feather duster in any colour – something you may not want to use! - Ostrich Leather

The local wines and ports are world class. Good stocks are available at the local Pick ‘n Pay shopping centre – or better still visit the wine farms yourself. Local wineries of note are Grundheim, Oude Muragie, De Krans and Boplaas.
Local Arts & Crafts
You will see local craftsmen in the main street of Oudtshoorn and also at the Pick ‘ n Pay shopping centre selling products that they made themselves like dusters and wire products that they weave.
